Robert Wood: Austin Bureau Chief
Robert Wood has been in radio since 1982. He started his radio career in New Braunfels as a big band disc-jockey. About six months later he moved into the news department. After a year in new Braunfels, Wood moved into the San Antonio market, where he reported and anchored for one radio station. He then became managing editor for another and subsequently became news director for a third. In 1990 Wood moved to Austin to be the morning host for KLBJ radio and in 1992 he was named KLBJ's capitol bureau chief. In November of 1993 Wood became Texas State Networks' capitol bureau chief. While at TSN he has covered many major stories, including the Branch Davidian Trial, natural disasters such as the floods of 1998 and the Jarrell tornado in 1997. Wood also covered several national political conventions, numerous hurricanes, and several executions.
