David Johnson – Business Analyst
A native of Pampa, David Johnson is a 30-year Wall Street veteran and has been a fixture on local and national media since 1975. David’s “Wall Street Update” and “Wall Street Wrap-Up” can be heard twice daily on Texas State Network stations. Listen weekdays at 11:40am and 3:40 pm.
After hosting his own television program, “Business Edition with David Johnson,” on Dallas PBS-affiliate KERA, David became the business analyst for WFAA-TV Channel 8. Currently, he can be seen on the “Daybreak” program and “News 8 Midday.”
David joined Public Radio International’s “Marketplace” program during its inaugural season in 1989 and has been a regular on the program ever since. “Marketplace” is heard by over 5 million listeners on almost 400 radio stations around the world.
David served a three-year stint as chairman of the board of Greenhill School in Dallas. He was an original member of the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Board, serving from 1983 to 1987, and is the winner of a Gold Medal from the New York International Film and TV Festival for his documentary “Tailspin.”
Currently, David serves on the advisory board of the Cecil and Ida Green Center for the Study of Science and Society at the University of Texas at Dallas and serves on Dallas Business Hall of Fame committee of the Junior Achievement of Dallas.
A graduate of Dallas’ Greenhill School and the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn., David is married and the father of two boys.
